Recently,Huawei 5G and Guangdong Unicom’s “Digital Fishing Boat” project won the 2023 GSMA “5G Productivity Challenge Award”.
It is understood that the 5G digital fishing vessel system jointly developed by Huawei and Guangdong Unicom relying on China Unicom’s 5G private network PLUS product system adopts 5G, cloud computing, Internet of Things and Beidou positioning technologies to realize all-weather dynamic monitoring of fishing vessels’ offshore operations.
Through the 5G MetaAAU ultra-large-scale antenna array, the system gives full play to the advantages of large bandwidth in the 3.5G frequency band, and can still maintain access capabilities of 61Mbps downlink and 60Mbps uplink within a sea range of 2 kilometers.
Fishermen cannot only watch the news, but also keep abreast of information such as weather warnings and make high-definition video calls with their families on the “digital fishing boat”.Once an emergency occurs on a fishing vessel, fishermen can call for help with one click through the App and get assistance in time.
At the same time, fishermen can also use the app to link to major e-commerce platforms and sell seafood products to all parts of the country through e-commerce channels.
Guangdong Unicom plans to further promote the digital fishing vessel system and provide related services for 4,5~<>,<> fishing vessels in Guangdong Province.
